The HSMC works diligently to promote adoption of the animals available at the McDonough County Animal Shelter,
although the facility itself operates on County funds and is staffed by employees through County dollars.
The HSMC does not have independent access to the shelter nor the authority to arrange adoptions.

	Please Note: Each dog that arrives at the Shelter without tags and nameless is provided a name for the duration of their stay at the shelter. If you think one of these dogs looks like your missing dog, please call the shelter. Do not decide that the dog pictured here cannot be yours based on the name the shelter has given him.
	"Adam" is a Yellow Lab, male 3+ years old. Adam is a very handsome dog.

	"Spangler" is a Boxer/Lab mix female, approximately 10 months old. Available for adoption on 8/11/2010.

	"Flash" is a 1 yo brown mix. Flash was easy to walk and could use some extra affection.

	"Buddy" is a GSD?Blue Heeler mix, 1 1/2 year old, male. Owner surrender. Loves to play ball, scared of cats, likes other dogs, housebroken, knows the following commands - catch, sit, lay down. He is a little unsure of why he is no longer with his family and in this strange place. He is a very nice, good natured dog who seemed happy to have children there visiting.

	"Emily" is a young, Rat Terrier, female. She was very excited to have company and would not sit still (energetic)! Likes kids.

	"Old Yeller " is a Yellow Lab, 5 years old, male. OMG! He was so goofy, silly, sweet, and eager to be out playing and showing you what he can do! He could hardly sit still when I was in his pen. This is one real sweetheart! He was super happy and attentive to the kids who were visiting the shelter.

	"Chewy" is a Chocolate Lab altered male, approximately 6-8 months. Very energetic!

	"Memphis" is a Yellow Lab male. Very friendly! Found on McArthur and Adams.

	"Lucy" is a very cute black and white female Cocker Spaniel/Brittany Spaniel mix.

	"No Name " is a black and white female Terrier mix.

	"Bailey" is a black and white female Pit Bull mix, approximatley 10 months old. She is reportedly good with kids (according to previous owner). Bailey has all of her shots and is fixed.

	"Sunnie" is a female German Shepherd, approximatley 1 year old. She is a very good dog.
