Lt. Dan

Lt. Dan came to the shelter as one of a litter of puppies confiscated from a dog breeding situation.  His front leg was severely injured and required amputation.  Generous HSMC members heard of his plight and “footed” his entire medical expenses.  Lt. Dan was quickly adopted and is living a happy and carefree life with his new family.

Brix Challenge 2017

Chris Brix holding his dogFor the fourth year in a row Chris Brix is challenging this community in an-other fundraising event for the Humane Society of McDonough County.
He has once again generously promised to match $1,000.00 in donations to the HSMC that are received between now and October 31, 2017.
Any amount you may choose to donate toward this challenge will be greatly appreciated. All money received will directly help animals in need in McDonough County. We are looking at renovation options to enhance adoption promotion and the housing of cats and kittens at the Shelter.

Thelma & Louise

Thelma & Louise, two senior female Beagles, came to the McDonough County Animal Shelter with a very strong bond to each other.  To keep them together, the HSMC sponsored a reduced adoption fee if adopted as a pair.  One week later they were ADOPTED TOGETHER!
