CatTails at Yappy Hour Fundraiser a Success
After a two-year absence due to Covid, the Humane Society of McDonough County’s former
Wine, Whiskers, & Whimsy fundraiser returned better than ever under the new name of CatTails
at Yappy Hour. During the two-hour event in June, the HSMC hosted 100 guests who enjoyed
conversation, live music by Mike Murphy, hors d’oeurves, a wine pull, basket raffle, and silent
auction.
We are excited to announce that we raised over $11,000 at CatTails at Yappy Hour! The HSMC
is a 100% volunteer organization. All proceeds from this event go directly to helping the animals
of our county through our programs, which include low-cost spay/neuter, foster/adoption/rescue
sponsorship, shelter medical assistance, pet food pantry, and Angel Fund.
CatTails at Yappy Hour was successful because of our volunteers, attendees, and the wonderful
businesses and community members who graciously donated to our event. Please help us in
